What does this app do…
Synonyms are words which mean the same (or almost the same) as another word.
In this game, you will be given a word and then you will have to choose an appropriate synonym from a list of four options.
There are 3 different modes that you can play: Lives, Timed, and Fixed. You can choose the game mode you wish to play from the settings menu.
In Lives mode, you start with 3 lives. You will lose 1 life every time you answer incorrectly and the game will end when you run out of lives!
In Timed mode, you will have a set amount of time to answer as many questions as possible, but don’t rush too much because you’ll lose points for each wrong answer!
In Fixed mode you will be given a set number of questions, and the game will track your percentage. Can you get a perfect 100%?

This game is excellent preparation for any students preparing for 11+ Verbal Reasoning or Common Entrance exams, but will be of tremendous benefit to any child.
Increasing a child’s vocabulary can be difficult, particularly if they are reluctant to read. This game will expose them to words which they would be unlikely to come across in their day-to-day experience. Students with a broad range of vocabulary will achieve higher marks in comprehension and creative writing tasks, both of which are regularly tested throughout their school career.

This game has been developed by Lucky Gecko Apps in association with Lucky Gecko Tuition.
Lucky Gecko Tuition is a small, friendly group of tutors based in Buckinghamshire, England. They work with children aged 7 to 18, and aim to boost confidence and inspire a love of learning in all their students. They run a number of specialist classes, including an 11+ Verbal Reasoning course and a children’s Reading Club (both of which helped to inspire this app!).
